SPINNAKER UPDATE WINTER 2024 - ORMOND BEACH

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our Owners whose vacations were impacted by Hurricane Milton. It is never an easy decision to close our resorts when a storm is forecasted to affect our area. Whether you were staying with us and had to cut your vacation short, or you were scheduled to visit during our cleanup and repair efforts, we recognize the disappointment and inconvenience this caused. We are truly grateful for your patience, understanding, and compassion. We were overwhelmed by the messages we received during and after the storm, many of which focused on the well-being of our staff. You are the reason we love what we do, and we were thrilled to reopen our doors and welcome everyone back!

Speaking of our staff, in August, five team members were nominated and recognized by the Lodging and Hospitality Association of Volusia County with annual awards! We are incredibly proud of each recipient and look forward to nominating even more of our team next year. Did you know that when you mention an employee by name on your comment card, it counts as a vote toward our own Annual Owners’ Choice Award? If you have an outstanding experience with anyone on our team during your stay, be sure to “vote” for them by submitting a comment card. Magic of Lights – Daytona International Speedway

Now through January 4th, experience the holiday magic at Daytona International Speedway with Magic of Lights. This dazzling drive-through event features over one million lights and runs daily from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Guests will journey behind the Ticket and Tours building, wind through the motorsport’s facility, and finish in the Midway display area. Don’t miss this festive tradition, open every evening for a spectacular holiday experience.

The 67th annual Daytona 500, known as "The Great American Race," is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. This prestigious event marks the beginning of the NASCAR Cup Series season, attracting top drivers and racing enthusiasts worldwide. Spanning 500 miles over 200 laps on the 2.5-mile tri-oval track, the Daytona 500 is renowned for its high-speed action and photo-finish endings.  

From February 28th to March 9th, 2025, the 84th Annual Daytona Beach Bike Week, one of the world’s most famous motorcycle rallies, takes over the area. Riders will cruise through iconic spots like historic Main Street, Midtown, and Scenic A1A, experiencing the best of old Florida, including the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop. 

Don’t miss the thrill of Daytona Bike Week.

On Saturday, February 10th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, head to Downtown Daytona Beach for the Wine & Chocolate Walk. Stroll Beach Street from Orange Avenue to Bay Street, stopping at various merchant stations to sample fine wines and delicious chocolates. Enjoy live music, unique handcrafted art, shopping, and free parking while sipping and savoring. Check-in points on North and South Beach Street provide attendees with a passport, wine glass, and beverage tickets to guide them through this decadent afternoon.

FEATURED RESORT IMPROVEMENTS

Our team is dedicated to ensuring the resort is ready for your stay.

We are always working to improve your facilities and villas. Here is a recap of the work completed or started over the past few months.

Royal Floridian and Royal Floridian South

• The north exterior wall of the Royal Floridian South has been power washed to ensure the building is clean and beautiful for your stay.
• We have modified our media service to allow more flexibility with the music playing in the lobby and on the pool deck. 
• Glass has been added to the dining tables in Royal Floridan North to protect them from damage.
• We are in the process of repainting and waterproofing the exterior of Royal Floridian Resort to ensure the buildings longevity and to protect the buildings components and integrity.
• The indoor pool and kiddie pool have been resurfaced to provide a smoother, safer, and more visually appealing swimming experience during your stay.
• All the basketball hoops and sports courts have been replaced with higher grade material to ensure they are ready for your enjoyment.
• New sofas and armchairs have been added to Royal Floridian South offering a comfortable place to unwind during your stay.

It’s a midweek treat you won’t want to miss.

Complimentary Coffee Social 

Enjoy the Complimentary Coffee Social, held each Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Gathering Room at Royal Floridian South. It’s the perfect way to start your morning, connect with fellow guests, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. .

Art Museum and Casements Walk

Join us Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for a scenic walk to the Art Museum and the historic Rockefeller House at The Casements. This guided stroll offers the perfect chance to explore two iconic landmarks. You’re welcome to stay and tour the sites at your leisure, with the option to find your way back to the resort on your own. It’s a delightful way to immerse yourself in local history and art!
