Dear Ormond Beach Owners,

As we look towards the holiday season and the approaching new year, we can't help but reflect on 2021. We were lucky to avoid the threat of hurricanes this year and feel fortunate to make it through hurricane season damage-free and without disrupting your vacations. Some amenities and activities were impacted by supply and shipment challenges, but we made modifications and adapted to make the best of it. We feel encouraged by your support and look forward to sharing more meaningful memories in 2022!

As I write this, your Maintenance Team has already removed furniture and prepared 19 Royal Floridian Resort villas for renovation. These villas will re-open in February with new cabinetry, granite counters, new flooring, and fresh paint and furnishings. Royal Floridian South is also replacing more villa entry doors and door jambs. The fifth floor had the new doors installed earlier this year and your positive feedback has been appreciated. We are all looking forward to this project's completion as it brings a fresh look to Royal Floridian South.

LOCAL NEWS

There's no better time for a Florida getaway then the winter. While the weather is glorious year-round, the Florida weather is PERFECT in the fall and winter. The summer heat is gone, but the bright blue skies and pure sunshine are ideal for golfing … and just about everything else.

Visit the manatees. Each winter when the temperature drops there are many manatees that make their way into the spring area at Blue Spring State Park. Take the drive over to the park to see them, it's worth it. The colder mornings are the perfect time to go. As the day warms up, they tend to make their way to the river to eat, so arrive early when it's colder. Some days you will see 200 or more of them snuggled into the spring. It's a beautiful thing to see!

Take a hike. There are quite a few nice hiking trails you can explore while visiting the Ormond Beach area. This gives you a chance to enjoy the outdoors and see the flora and fauna in this area of Florida.

Go kayaking. Winter is a wonderful time of the year to go kayaking in the Ormond Beach area! Get out on the water and get close to the wildlife as you soak up the sun and warmer weather. You can rent kayaks at Cracker Creek or Tomoka State Park.

With the nice weather it's nice sometimes to take a drive and just look around. You can drive through the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, or take the beautiful scenic loop in Ormond Beach that goes by Bulow Woods (and stop and see the beautiful old tree).

Historic performances, spectacular finishes and amazing memories await you during Daytona Speedweeks and the Daytona 500 - an experience you will never forget! Daytona Speedweeks officially kicks off the NASCAR season with an action-packed schedule of races across several different racing series from February 16-20, 2022.

FEATURED RESORT IMPROVEMENTS

Throughout the season we have been busy at work improving your facilities and villas. What follows is a recap of the work that was completed or started over the past few months.

Royal Floridian and Royal Floridian South

Beach walkover steps have been repaired
Installed LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring in villas 2204, 2308, 2505, 2705, 2707, 2708
Gathering room guest hours have been lengthened (returned to pre-COVID schedule)
New dressers have been installed in 1-Bedroom ocean-view villas
New counter stools have been replaced in 1-Bedroom villas
Entry doors have been replaced on the sixth and seventh floors
Sofa and chairs have been steam cleaned

Royal Floridian

Pool area pavers have been repaired
Villa renovations have begun on the south side of the third and fourth floors
Lobby, the Lobby restroom, and Pool deck restroom floors have been deep cleaned
Exterior windows, railings, and glass have been deep cleaned
Carpets have been cleaned
Villa deep cleans (for all villas) have included duvet inserts and bed skirts laundered and replacement where needed, under/behind furniture deep cleaning and annual condo items inventoried and replaced

RESORT ACTIVITIES

The Activities Department at the Royal Floridian is excited to kick off the Winter Activities for 2021! We have fun activities for guests of all ages. We are packing the season with craft events, ice cream socials, outdoor sports, bingo and more! Mornings at the Royal Floridian will begin with a walk, followed by coffee at the Tiki Bar and then hit the pool for low impact water aerobics. Come with your spouse, best friend or children. A morning walk is just what you need to start your vacation days off well. Breathe deeply and fill your lungs with fresh ocean air… Ormond beach is so stunning in the mornings! Don't forget to bring your camera.

OWNER SERVICES AND RESERVATIONS

With so many of you excited to make up for little or no travel last year and ready to enjoy mother nature and our spectacular resorts, we ask you to make your reservations as early as possible. We encourage all Owners to provide plenty of lead time when booking or banking their usage. We don't want you to miss out on your desired vacation.

To make it easy for you to book your reservation, we provide three ways to do so:

Email us at [email protected] with your preferred location and dates
Call us at (877) 842-3201. We are available Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT

Reminder: January is typically the busiest month for call volume into our offices. In order to avoid potential long hold times, we encourage everyone to use either the reservation request form on the website or send us an email. You can also pay your Association fees online and avoid any wait.
