Welcome to your summer newsletter, we hope this information will help to keep you updated on our latest news and provide you with tips for planning your next Smooth Sailing Vacation.

Summer is here! Our team has spent the past couple of months busily preparing for the season and we are excited about your arrival. With plenty of sunshine, good (but hot) weather and lots of activity around the resorts and island you are sure to find enough to stay active and enjoy everything the Lowcountry has to offer.
|
|
If you haven't yet vacationed or made reservations to stay at the resorts this year, make your plans now to visit Hilton Head this fall. The weather is fantastic on Hilton Head and there are still so many new and interesting things to do we are sure there will be more than enough excitement to fill every minute of your vacation.

Make the most of summer 2019! Here's what you should know while you're in Hilton Head.
|
|
It's Lights Out for Sea Turtles. Sea turtle nesting season began May 1! You can help nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings by doing the following if you enjoy any of Hilton Head's beaches from now until the end of August:
|
|
• If you are digging holes in the beach to place an umbrella or building sand castles, please return the sand to its undisturbed state before leaving the beach
• Place all trash and recyclables in the appropriate receptacles
• If you spot a sea turtle nest on the beach please do not disturb
• Please avoid the beach after 10 p.m. sea turtles like the dark!

It's Trolley Time Again! The Breeze, Hilton Head Island's seasonal public trolley service is running again this summer with some new stops along the route! For just $1 per trip you can explore many of the island's hotspots.
|
|
• Stops include: Coligny Beach Park, the resort areas of South Forest Beach, Park Plaza, the Village at Wexford, the Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina and the Shelter Cove Towne Center Stops.
• Trolley service times:
Sunday - Thursday: 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 1 p.m. until midnight

Did you know Hilton Head Island, South Carolina was named a Gold-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) for 2019? The Town of Hilton Head was originally awarded Gold-level back in 2015 (by The League of American Bicyclists) and was the first and only community in South Carolina to earn this award.
|
|
So, if you enjoy the freedom of being on a bicycle and you haven't discovered all of the bike paths that wind and around the island, be sure to on your next visit.

• Fogged window replacements completed at several villas; replacements will be ongoing until completed
• Vertical blinds replaced with horizontal Faux Wood blinds at all villas
• Activities Center carpet and bathroom vinyl flooring have been replaced

The Recreation Staff is so elated! They have new activities this summer that will provide new insight about the South. Enjoy!

NEW THIS SEASON! Historic Hilton Head Guided Tour:
Calling all history buffs; do not miss this one! Hop aboard our Spinnaker Shuttle with a top local historian for a three-hour tour discovering the history that is hidden throughout the Island. See the posting on elevator boards for details of this one-of-a-kind experience.

NEW THIS SEASON! Beaufort Shuttle:
Sign-up and hop aboard our Spinnaker Shuttle for a trip to the beautiful historic town of Beaufort. Enjoy a day of shopping at unique boutiques and galleries; perhaps have lunch by the water; or take a carriage ride through historic neighborhoods lined with majestic antebellum mansions; the day is yours to plan. Each fare ride includes tickets to the Santa Elena History Center and a guided tour of the Verdier House Museum.

• Remember to allocate your SRCs before they expire - they expire after two years
• You may allocate them towards future Association Fees if you've already covered the current year's fees
