JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Recreation Attendant will conduct service operations at our Sandy Scoops (Waterside Resort) or Recreation activities (Bluewater Resort and Shipyard). Duties may include checking out and maintaining rental equipment (beach equipment, bikes, fishing poles, etc.), serving ice cream, ensuring workspace is clean. organized and sanitized, maintain equipment rental records and inventories, and other duties as needed. Attendant will be required to work independently as well as with a team. Attendants should have a strong understanding of local interests for answering guest questions. Other duties include enforcing rules and policies of resort and recreation department including pool, dock, kayak and game areas, maintaining accurate records of participation, room charges, and other data as required.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain equipment records including rentals, sales, inventory and guest charges.
  • Interact and work cooperatively with recreation and other departments.
  • Guest and owner customer service.
  • General knowledge of overall resorts operations
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Ensure sanitization of work and food surfaces and equipment.
  • Prepare and serve food items and/or ice cream
  • 40-hour work week with over time as needed
  • Assist Recreation Coordinators with programs as needed.
  • Present a professional appearance and demeanor utilizing provided uniform and name badge.
  • Uphold the department’s standards of practice in conducting all programs
  • Enforcing company policies concerning:
    • Tour Reservations
    • Rented recreation equipment
    • Trespassing
    • Serving of alcohol
    • Amenity Charges
    • Pool and deck safety (horseplay, floats and glass/food on decks)
    • Kayak operations
    • Fishing and crabbing regulations in accordance with state and regional laws
    • Eco-friendly practices and reduced environmental impact
  • Securing amenities for adverse weather conditions
  • Following all corporate standard operating policies including specified breaks and or lunch periods

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High-School
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft software including:
    • Publisher
    • Excel
    • Word
    • Email/Outlook
    • Sign-up Genius
    • SPI
  • Dedicated work ethic
  • Ability to work in both collaborative and autonomous environments productively
  • Exemplary communication skills: ability to memorize script, present information to large groups, lead discussions and engage in spontaneous conversations
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Customer Service skills
  • Food prep, Food Safe (Serve Pro) knowledge or certification a plus
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance and simple repair of bikes, fishing reels, carts and other sporting equipment a plus.
  • Must speak and write English fluently.
