Liberty Ice Pavilion

Experience the winter with a few turns on the ice at the Liberty Ice Pavilion sponsored by Dominion Energy, located on historic Duke of Gloucester St.

Ice skate in a beautiful, festive, and outdoor setting at the Pavilion. Made of real ice, the surface is the perfect medium for any level ice skater. There is no need to bring your skates from home since the Pavilion has skate rentals ranging from kids to adults. Whether you desire a night out on the ice, looking for a venue for a romantic date, or a space for your family to have fun, the Pavilion is a winter wonderland. The Pavilion is open daily from mid-November through mid-February, including holidays!

Parking is available in the nearby hourly Merchants Square lots or in the paid parking garage on Henry Street. If you have Colonial Williamsburg admission, park at the Visitor Center, and catch a ride in one of the heated buses that will drop you off just down the street. “Merchant Square is recognized as one of the earliest, if not the first planned shopping districts in the United States”. Busch Gardens Winter Weekends

Did you know Busch Gardens is open during the winter? Busch Gardens Winter Weekends is held during the month of January.

Celebrate in a winter wonderland of fun by walking through villages filled with beautiful lights at night, braving the thrills of rides including three roller coasters, encountering unique animals, participating in special kid activities, and viewing a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday evenings. The Winter Weekends will be held from Fridays through Sundays with day and evening sessions available. Reservations are required, and admission is included for Membership, Annual Pass, and Fun Card holders.

Colonial Williamsburg

Have you heard about the Grand Illumination? Visit Colonial Williamsburg for a day of special events and end the day with spectacular fireworks show! A tradition that dates back to the 18th century, illuminations were used to celebrate main events by firing guns and lighting fireworks. Celebrate for free with the public before 7 p.m. If you prefer Premium Fireworks Seating, there is a fee of $25 per person.


Mardi Gras at Busch Gardens

During the month of February, explore eight decorated villages filled with cocktails, Cajun food, and live entertainment. Enjoy roller coasters and attractions, including Sesame Street® Forest of Fun! Mardi Gras will be held from Fridays through Sundays. Admission is included for Membership, Annual Pass, and Fun Card holders. Reservations are required because there is limited capacity for this special event.


Looking for the hills and the thrills? The slippery slope at York River State Park located on York River Road is where you can go sledding! With snow boots, gloves, and heavy winter gear, you’ll be ready. Be sure to call the park to make sure the roads into the park are accessible, and the park is open. It is normally open from 8 a.m. to dusk. The drive from King’s Creek Resort is about 20-25 minutes.
