Hurricane Procedures

If a hurricane threatens Ormond Beach, there will first be a Voluntary Evacuation Order issued by the Local Government. If the Governor issues a Mandatory Evacuation Order, you are required to leave the beachside of Ormond Beach immediately and will not be able to return until the storm has passed and local authorities allow re-entry to the area. 

The Atlantic hurricane season is officially June 1st through November 30th. Please read and understand the Hurricane procedures and contact us if you have any questions.

  2. Please close all draperies and blinds and lock all windows and doors upon departure.

When a storm is approaching Ormond Beach you should listen to radio stations:

You can also watch UHF Channel 15 for emergency information and instructions, and the weather channel is Channel 27.

Hurricane Evacuation Tips

  • Know where shelters are in your area
  • Make sure your vehicle is fully fueled
  • Flashlight and extra batteries
  • Portable, battery-operated radio and extra batteries
  • First aid kit and manual
  • Emergency food and water
  • Essential Medicines
  • Cash and credit cards 

Call the Citizen's Information Hotline (866) 345-0345 for shelter information. This number is activated once an evacuation order has been issued, voluntary or mandatory. During a declared emergency, you can contact the Florida Department of Transportation to obtain details regarding traffic and road conditions in your area. Call (866) 374-3368 during these emergencies for the latest road information. 

Hurricane Evacuation Route

State Road 40 (Granada Blvd.) is a designated Hurricane Evacuation Route for the Ormond Beach area. After passing over the bridge, SR 40 will lead you to I-95 North or South. 

Returning to Ormond Beach After a Hurricane 

Check the local and state news sources for re-entering information. If Ormond Beach is open for re-entry, please call your property location for specific information regarding your unit.
