Fourth of July Celebration Florida Oceanside Style
Are you ready to feel fevered excitement? Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach area will be a fun place to be for the July 4th holiday weekend.
The beach is a great location for fireworks demonstrations lighting up the night sky. If that’s not enough, spectators will also experience the high pitch rumble of race cars lit up by blazing bright track lights as the Coke Zero 200 Nascar race comes to the Daytona International Speedway.
How awesome it is to have both festivities of the Fourth of July AND a Nascar race for all of the local Nascar fans! Well, we can’t say just local Nascar fans. Nascar fans descend upon the Daytona Beach area by the droves from near and far to attend the race. The Daytona International Speedway will also have fireworks on Saturday night (July 5th) at the end of the race to finish out the big event and mark the holiday. Since 1959, the Coke Zero Daytona 500 has been bringing lifetime memories to spectators as they convert newcomers to die-hard fans.
The Main Street pier is a convenient location for a good view of Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach fireworks. Locals often flock to Disappearing Island and you can see boats line up for miles on the sandbar. After all, what better view than from the water? As a Hilton Head native, I can relate to why so many also head to the beach, with chairs or towels and sit back to watch the spectacular display unfold overhead.
The Royal Floridian resorts are prime locations to see the Ormond Beach fireworks that take place just next to the Granada Bridge up the street from the resorts. Take a seat on your oceanside balcony, poolside, or head down to the beach. During the day, the resort Recreation staff will be hosting a hot dog lunch and you can create some fun 4th of July crafts and souvenirs.
On a final note, I would be writing a longer blog for your reading pleasure, but we’re getting ready to celebrate Independence Day and I’m not going to miss the festivities!
