Sales Training Coordinator

The purpose of this position is to facilitate training programs throughout the organization(s) for the Sales  department based on need as determined by Senior Management.  Facilitate means to develop and/or locate appropriate content; coordinate/schedule training events; deliver content; and maintain accurate records of participants as required for employment records.  Will function as a TO for training participants and as needed on the sales floor.  Assist with recruitment, specifically sourcing candidates, pre-screening and interviewing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Recruit, hire and train new Sales Representatives.
  2. Assist with developing ads for recruiting and other recruitment activities.
  3. Schedule and host training sessions with new and experienced Sales Reps daily/weekly/monthly or as required
  4. Develop a training manual
  5. Update pitch books and re-deliver sales training as required
  6. Track completion of various training programs and update Regional Sales Director and Human Resources for personnel files.
  7. Recruit candidates (searching databases, posting openings, screening resumes, interviewing & reference checks)
  8. Work with Human Resources regarding job postings for available positions, including referring candidates for available positions in other departments
  9. Responsible for the closing of full down and pending deals with sales representatives who have successfully completed the training class, targeting a 20% close rate.
  10. Implementation and execution of Corporate policies and procedures as required.
  11. Motivate and train sales representatives to focus on specific inventory for sales purposes.
  12. Participate in weekly meetings with Managers and Directors.
  13. Participate in ride-alongs with non-performing Sales Representatives to guide improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration and/or a related field.
  2. Previous relevant experience in training and development or Human Resources.
  3. Professional demeanor and appearance.
  4. Excellent communication skills – articulation and writing skills.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Excellent presentation skills – including prior experience delivering in front of large groups.
  7. Excellent computer skills and aptitude.
  8. Positive, out-going and can-do attitude.
  9. Ability and willingness to travel.

OPTIONAL SKILLS A PLUS:

  1. Familiarity and/or knowledge of Sales, specifically Vacation Ownership
  2. Familiarity and/or knowledge of hospitality and/or exceptional customer service techniques.
  3. Proven history of sales training and closing deals.
