The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing a variety of skilled trade work involved with operating light and heavy power equipment. These activities include: performing cutting of the grass, trash pick-up, mulching, planting, maintaining grills, watering, trimming of bushes/hedges and other necessary grounds activities as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and water all vegetation in general common areas on the resort property.
- Ensure bushes and hedges are trimmed to maintain the appearance of SDC Properties.
- Make daily trash runs throughout the complex and transport trash to dumpsters.
- Mow grass on property and in median area on Rt. 199.
- Ensure weeds around buildings, flower beds, and along the streets are sprayed or pulled daily.
- Maintain flower beds by planting flowers according to the season.
- Ensure all furniture, including pool furniture is organized and maintained in a straight and orderly manner.
- Ensure the maintenance of common area grills weekly.
- Maintain a clean environment around Club House, The Aquatic Center and swimming pool areas, including removal of trash from receptacles and cigarette debris from ash urns.
- Make periodic tours throughout complex to ensure debris is removed from all common areas.
- Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary.
- Maintain accurate work records and logs according to department procedure.
- Keep work areas clean and well organized and complete work assignments in a neat and efficient manner.
- Assist with any maintenance requirements as needed.
- Ensure SDC Properties policies and procedures are followed.
- Perform and complete all work assigned safely and professionally according to safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings.
- Participate in all training sessions as offered by company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have one or more years of prior experience working as a Groundskeeper or in Landscaping.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods and practices used in skilled and semi-skilled trade related to grounds.
- Knowledge of manual tools and heavy/light power equipment and skilled in the operation of.
- Knowledge of landscaping expectations and requirements.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and procedures; proficient in the practice of.
- Ability to complete all work orders or projects in a timely and efficient manner (i.e., guest calls and routine ground procedures).
